The city of Larissa

Larissa (Greek: Λάρισα) is the capital and biggest city of the Thessaly region of Greece and capital of the Larissa regional unit. It is a principal agricultural centre and a national transportation hub, linked by road and rail with the port of Volos, the city of Thessaloniki and Athens. Τhe regional unit of Larissa reached a population of 284.325 (in 2011). Today, Larissa is a major commercial and industrial centre in Greece. Legend has it that Achilles was born here, and that Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, died here.

The beginning of the project

The Project Coordinator informed the teachers board and the Parents Association for the Comenius program.
Formation of "Youth involvement club".
Comenius classroom. A space with wifi conection, used as working place and exhibition of our creations and the presesnts from our friends.
Posted the relevant items on the school blog and in the local newspaper to inform the local community.

Preparatory meeting

The preparatory meeting took place on January 14th - 18th 2013 in Halle/W, Germany. During preparatory meeting, the 11th Gymnasium of Larissa was represented by the teacher and local coordinator of the project Comenius, Fivi Baloti
